Borderlands 4 Patch Notes Reveal Big Buffs For Several Legendary-Class Guns

The latest update for Borderlands 4 is now available, and it continues the trend of making players more powerful, especially by improving weapons. Gearbox is making a series of smaller changes, starting with powerful, rare ‘Legendary’ weapons. These weapons haven’t been performing as well in battles as they should, despite their special abilities, so their overall strength is being significantly increased.

The Hellwalker shotgun, inspired by the iconic Super-Shotgun from the Doom series, is getting a boost. Its base damage is increasing by 30%, making it even more effective against regular enemies, especially when combined with Jakobs-specific upgrades and skills. The Torgue pistol, Queen’s Rest, is also being improved. It will fire bullets 50% faster, and its special ability – which launches a homing, sticky projectile – will now activate twice as often, increasing from a 30% to a 50% chance.

We’ve also improved a few weapons. Ruby’s Grasp now deals more damage and fires faster, the drone from Bully does 50% more damage, and Convergence’s base damage is up 25%. If you’re looking to get these Legendary weapons, you can earn them by defeating bosses across Kairos, or you can try your luck with Mauricie’s Black Market vending machine.

Maurice sells powerful, unique weapons – Legendary gear – to players who visit his machine. If you’re lucky, you can buy one with exactly the stats you want. You can also find Legendaries in Golden Treasure Chests. For more Golden Keys to open those chests, check our guide to the latest Borderlands 4 Shift Codes.

So, Gearbox has been tweaking things, which is awesome. They fixed the Anarchy shotgun so it actually gives you those sweet Mutualism stacks when it reloads or you kill enemies, and Vex’s Bleed skill now counts as proper status effect damage – finally! You can check out all the details in the patch notes. And get this – next week they’re diving deep into Class Mods, Repkits, Shields, and Firmware to really polish those up. Borderlands 4 hasn’t been running perfectly since launch, but they promised next week’s update will fix a lot of the performance problems and add some stuff we’ve all been asking for, which is great news!
