Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, who got married in 2021, have recently formed a new production company together called KAMPA Films. The name of the company is derived from their maternal lineage, combining the initials of their moms.
In their latest endeavor, both actors come equipped with a wealth of industry knowledge. Rao has earned acclaim for his diverse acting skills, featured in the blockbuster movie “Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank” (2024), the Netflix series “Guns & Gulaabs” (2023), the film “Badhaai Do” (2022), and the Netflix film “The White Tiger” (2021).
Patralekhaa has established a strong presence in the entertainment industry, primarily through her captivating performances in series such as “IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack” on Netflix and “Wild Wild Punjab,” both released in 2024. She also starred in the Disney+ Hotstar series “Aar Ya Paar” in 2022. Making her feature film debut was alongside Rao in Hansal Mehta’s “CityLights” back in 2014.
Reaching the point where we can unveil KAMPA is a deeply meaningful moment for us. Movies have been instrumental in molding our personal journeys, and this is our opportunity to contribute back. Alongside Raj, I am making our shared vision a tangible reality by establishing a platform that nurtures emerging talent and fosters captivating narratives,” Patralekhaa expressed.
Rao expressed feelings that were quite alike. “Our goal was to create a space where we could share tales that touch people deeply, yet remain engaging and motivating,” he explained. “This venture is significant to us, and we’re excited to offer original and distinctive narratives to viewers,” he added.
Our film studio has begun working on numerous productions, and we anticipate making announcements about these projects in the upcoming months. KAMPA strives to create content suitable for viewers from various countries. The company’s goal is to generate content that is not only engaging but also stimulates thought.
