Blind YouTuber slams trolls accusing him of faking his disability for views

Kim Hansol, a visually impaired YouTuber who goes by ‘Wonshot Hansol’ online, has responded to years of accusations that he’s pretending to be blind. He publicly addressed and refuted the malicious comments he’s received for the past seven years.

Even though she’s gained a huge fanbase, the creator has been constantly bothered by strange conspiracy theories online. In a recent video called “Please Stop Already… I’ve Had It With Trolls,” she finally decided to address the negativity head-on.

Kim reviewed a series of strange accusations – including being accused of running a nationwide scam for profit – while sitting with his dog, Tori, and his producer, according to Chosun.

YouTuber Hits Back At Faking Claims

Someone asked Kim if he was pretending to be sick to make money, and he found the idea ridiculous. He playfully asked his producer if she would consider pretending to be blind for a paycheck. She quickly replied that she definitely wouldn’t.

People online often claim Kim’s eyes still move, or don’t appear frightening enough, as evidence he’s faking his condition. Kim has responded by saying this reasoning is prejudiced, as it assumes all people with vision impairments should look a certain way, which is simply unfair.

Kim actually has a rare condition called Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy, or LHON. This disease caused him to lose his vision quickly, over just two months in 2010. Now, he can only see light with his right eye, and his left eye can barely make out shapes at a very close range and specific angle.

Despite dedicated fans sharing videos of Kim consulting with doctors about his health, online trolls continue to dismiss the information. One commenter even absurdly suggested Kim had somehow tricked his medical team.
