Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Trial Is Getting Pushed Back

Well, folks, it looks like we’re going to be waiting even longer for the courtroom drama surrounding It Ends With Us to unfold. The civil trial between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively has been pushed back two months – from March 9th to May 18th, according to People magazine. Apparently, Judge Liman has two criminal cases that need to be handled first, which is understandable. I was at the hearing back in December, and the judge encouraged both sides to consider settling things out of court. Honestly, after a year of legal wrangling, a settlement feels like a long shot. We’ll have another update on January 22nd, but don’t hold your breath for a quick resolution.

In December 2024, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, the film’s director, and his production company, alleging emotional distress and retaliation. The suit followed a promotional tour filled with rumors that created conflict between Lively and Baldoni among fans. Lively claims Baldoni and his team deliberately damaged her reputation after she reported alleged sexual harassment. Baldoni filed a countersuit, but a judge dismissed it in June 2025. A resolution to Lively’s original suit is expected in about six months, by which time author Colleen Hoover will have had two additional book-to-film adaptations released.
