As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve been following all the whispers about Black Panther 3, and it looks like the title has finally leaked! It seems like things are about to get really tough for Wakanda – things are taking a seriously dark turn, and I’m both excited and a little worried to see what happens!
Director Ryan Coogler faced the incredibly difficult challenge of continuing the Black Panther series after the heartbreaking loss of Chadwick Boseman, who passed away from colon cancer in 2020. Instead of finding a new actor to play King T’Challa, Marvel made the decision to have the character die at the beginning of the 2022 film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
In the latest film, T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, became the new Black Panther and battled Namor (Tenoch Huerta) and his people from the underwater kingdom of Talokan. However, with future Marvel movies planning a story involving the multiverse – starting with ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and continuing with ‘Secret Wars’ – there’s also talk that a different version of T’Challa could appear in theaters.
The possible title for Black Panther 3 has been announced, and it suggests Wakanda will face even greater turmoil in the upcoming movie.
Does Black Panther 3 have a title?

Although Marvel is keeping the story of Black Panther 3 a secret, a recent leak suggests the movie’s title will be Black Panther: Shadows of Wakanda.
Production Weekly, a source that posts job listings for people working on Hollywood films and television programs, is reporting this news.
The listing also includes a small synopsis, although it doesn’t reveal too much.
The next Black Panther movie, called Shadows of Wakanda, will focus on how Wakanda struggles after the loss of T’Challa, and how Shuri rises to become their new protector and ruler.
Is there a release date?

There’s no confirmed release date for Black Panther 3 (though some sources suggest the title might be Black Panther: Shadows of Wakanda). However, industry insider Jeff Sneider recently reported on his podcast, The Hot Mic, that Marvel is aiming for a February 2028 release.
Marvel is likely being secretive about the upcoming Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars. These films will almost certainly feature a huge battle involving heroes from across the multiverse, and will also bring Robert Downey Jr. into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom.
Who’s in the Black Panther 3 cast?

Although Marvel Studios and Disney haven’t announced the official cast for Black Panther 3, Letitia Wright is expected to return as Shuri, now taking on the role of Wakanda’s leader.
Many fans have speculated about how Marvel might address the absence of Chadwick Boseman in future films, with some suggesting a recast using the multiverse concept. In early 2025, Formula 1 driver Damson Idris expressed his desire to play Black Panther, but it remains to be seen if that will happen.
I’m so excited to hear that Denzel Washington is definitely going to be in Gladiator II! He let it slip during interviews for the press tour that Ryan Coogler actually wrote a role specifically for him, which is amazing. We don’t know who he’ll be playing yet, but a lot of fans, myself included, are hoping it’s Blue Marvel – that character would be perfect for him. He’s a super-smart genius who can control matter with his mind, and Denzel just has that presence!
If Idris Elba ends up working with Michael B. Jordan in Wakanda, it’s likely we’ll also see other popular Black Panther actors return, including Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia.
