As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt and countless hours spent in Call of Duty series, I must say, the recent buff to the Goblin Mk2 in Black Ops 6 has sent shockwaves through the gaming community. I remember when this underrated gun was barely worth a second glance – but now, it’s downright ludicrous!
In the game Black Ops 6, Treyarch boosted the power of various assault rifles by enhancing their damage when hitting a target’s head. One weapon that was previously overlooked and received these upgrades now has an incredibly high time required to eliminate an opponent.
In the December 10th update, the Goblin Mk2 received a significant boost to its damage output, particularly in terms of headshot damage which is now 50 points per shot. This enhancement brings back the Goblin Mk2’s capability to eliminate targets with two headshots, similar to its performance before Season 1, resulting in an impressive Time To Kill (TTK) of 130 milliseconds.
Furthermore, the CHF Barrel has received an enhancement, significantly increasing headshot damage to as much as 60 per shot. Consequently, a single headshot and one bodyshot within its maximum damage range is sufficient for the Goblin Mk2 to eliminate an opponent.
Up to a distance of 17 meters, you’ll annihilate enemies at a rate 50% quicker than top-tier Submachine Guns. Even beyond that range, it remains competitive. Such power in an Assault Rifle is unbelievable! To maximize this weapon, I recommend using this specific build.
Best Goblin Mk2 loadout in BO6
- Optic: Kepler Microflex
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: CHF Barrel
- Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
It’s clear that you’d benefit from the significant damage increase when landing headshots with the CHF Barrel on your Goblin Mk2. This upgrade makes it a formidable weapon, but there’s a catch: it increases recoil significantly. To maintain accuracy, it’s advisable to pair it with both the Compensator and Recoil Springs.
Regarding its precision, the Goblin Mk2 isn’t just any semi-automatic weapon – it requires a more advanced sighting system for optimal performance. Instead of relying on iron sights, consider equipping a meta optic such as the Kepler Microflex for smoother target acquisition. This adjustment significantly facilitates aiming for headshots, which are crucial to leverage the gun’s astonishing time-to-kill (TTK).
For the final attachment slot, there are two appealing options, with the Ergonomic Grip being the best overall choice. When equipped, it turns the Goblin into a mobile, fast-handling weapon. This is ideal in Black Ops 6, given how fast-paced this year’s gameplay can be. Alternatively, the Vertical Foregrip works too if you value accuracy over mobility.
In both single-player and multiplayer modes, the Goblin stands out as exceptional, particularly in Warzone. Adapting to employing a semi-automatic weapon in Call of Duty’s battle royale is necessary for it to shine there.
