As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Treyarch has once again managed to keep us on our toes with the introduction of the Malestrom shotgun and the Merry Mayhem event in Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded. It’s refreshing to see a new approach to unlocking weapons, especially when it involves some good old-fashioned grinding during events like these.
In a new development for Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded, there are two fresh weapons up for grabs. One of these weapons can be unlocked by participating in the Merry Mayhem event.
Typically, players gain access to new weapons via the Battle Pass, but in a surprising twist during the mid-season update, Treyarch followed a similar approach as they did with the Sirin 9MM Secondary Weapon in the Hit List event. Now, just like before, players must follow the same process to unlock the Malestrom shotgun.
The newly introduced shotgun by Activision is best utilized when players move in close for optimal performance. Its heavy kickback and substantial spread from hip-firing limit its effectiveness at a distance, but it excels as a rapid-fire weapon in close quarter battles due to its good range and handling.
In this text, you’ll find all the essential details about acquiring the weapon and other aspects related to the Merry Mayhem event.
Merry Mayhem start and end date
Starting from December 5th, I’ve got exactly 15 days to immerse myself in the Merry Mayhem event! I’ll be racking up points and grinding XP like there’s no tomorrow, as the fun ends on December 19th. The clock is ticking, and I don’t want to miss out on any rewards!
Should players fail to acquire all the rewards, an assortment consisting of the Ammo Mod, Field Upgrade, Perk, attachments, and weapons will automatically become accessible in the Armory instead.
How to unlock the Maelstrom shotgun & other Merry Mayhem rewards in Black Ops 6 & Warzone
To obtain the Maelstrom shotgun, players need to gather sufficient experience points (XP) by successfully completing all ten Merry Mayhem challenges.
For some of the rewards in this event, Activision has shared only the XP requirements, which implies that we’ll have to wait until the event begins to discover the total amount of XP required to earn all 10 rewards.
Here is a look at every reward.
- “Holiday Fear” Emblem
- “Necroclaus” Loading Screen
- “Nasty Nick” Calling Card
- “Light Mend” Ammo Mod (Zombies Only) and 30 Minute “Double Weapon XP Token”
- “Death Claus” Large Decal
- “Tesla Storm” Field Upgrade (Zombies Only) and 30 Minute “Double XP Token”
- “Bitter Blizzard” Weapon Charm
- “Shrapnel Radar” Perk (Multiplayer Only)
- 30 Minutes “Double Battle Pass XP Token”
- “Scour Drill” Weapon Blueprint (BlackCell Only) and “3-Round Burst Mod” Attachment for the XM4
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got some thrilling news! The Maelstrom Shotgun isn’t the sole excitement this event offers. There’s a brand-new Ammo Mod called Light Mend, making its debut in Zombies. Here’s the catch: when Zombies bite the dust, they might drop healing glyphs. These glyphs can restore your health or that of your allies nearby – now isn’t that a game-changer?
Furthermore, the Ammo Mod can be enhanced to change the glyph’s impact. Notably, the Tesla Storm is back as a Field Upgrade in Zombies, stunning and harming enemies for 10 seconds. In this installment, the lightning links not only to the enemies but also to your teammates as well.
In other words, Shrapnel Radar is a fresh choice for the third Perk slot which highlights wounded adversaries on your mini-map resulting from lethal weapons, tactical equipment, and Field Upgrades.
Previously, I found the XM4’s 3-Round Burst Mod to be quite beneficial for my gaming experience. It significantly conserves my AR’s ammunition and allows me to maintain a more stable aim when shooting enemies, compared to using the full-auto mode.
