Black Ops 6 fans blast killstreak change making fan-favorite “unusable”

As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of Call of Duty under my belt, I must say, it’s disheartening to see the change in one of my favorite scorestreaks – the Care Package. Over the years, I’ve seen many changes, some good, some bad, but this one seems to have taken the cake (or should I say, the Care Package).

Fans of Black Ops 6 are disgruntled because a highly valued scorestreak, which has been a staple for over a decade in Call of Duty, has become essentially useless due to recent game adjustments.

Over the gaming years, I’ve noticed a few attempts to redesign the gameplay mechanics in Call of Duty, particularly when it comes to customizing classes and weapon setups. But every now and then, they surprise us by tinkering with some of our beloved game elements too.

Ninja and Dead Silence have been key examples of that in the last few releases, with the latter becoming a Field Upgrade instead of a standard perk. 

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has introduced numerous modifications to the gaming universe, with certain innovations such as Omnimovement being widely appreciated among many enthusiasts. However, other alterations have not been met with universal approval.

COD fans want big change to Care Package capture speed

In the updated version of the game, both opponents and allies can seize a Care Package at the exact rate as the player who originally earned it in multiplayer mode. Previously, this wasn’t possible.

This has sparked several requests for adjustments. Reddit user Thecceffect suggested slowing down the speed at which teammates collect supply boxes, stating “It would be fair if the capture rate was the same as enemies’ so that the collector gets enough time to pick it up or pass it on to a teammate.

It’s not only them who have encountered this issue in phone calls. One person said, “As soon as they see the smoke, they just stand there and watch… it’s absurd,” while another stated, “It makes the care package almost unusable to me. I don’t use it anymore.

Another player said it is “insane” the issue exists anyway given that the Care Package had been fine in-game for 15 years. 

The individual who claims a care package gets it quicker than anyone else, whether they’re an ally or an opponent. This feature has been in the game since MW2 (2009), and it’s operated this way for over 15 years. The fact that they haven’t rectified the issue yet makes the problem even more glaring,” they pointed out humorously.

As a dedicated fan, I eagerly await to see if Treyarch will respond to our requests for change when they return from their holiday break in the New Year.
