2025 will see the unveiling of some requested modifications for Black Ops 6, as Treyarch announced in their January 3rd update, marking the beginning of this year.

Although Black Ops 6 was initially hailed as the largest Call of Duty release yet upon its debut, it has recently experienced a decrease in player numbers. The peak concurrent player count on Steam at launch (315,000) has dropped significantly to more than 100,000 by late December.

In the face of numerous popular multiplayer games flourishing, including Marvel Rivals, content creators such as Nadeshot and many others have switched games because of problems with performance and cheating concerns.

Thankfully, Treyarch gave fans a reason to return to BO6 by listening to community feedback.

Multiplayer and Zombies changes coming to Black Ops 6

There will be more details in the complete patch notes, but here is a preview of what to expect.

  • New modes in MP & Zombies
  • High Roller Wildcard in MP
  • Elemental Sword buffs in Zombies
  • Prop Hunt improvements
  • Citadelle des Morts bug fixes
  • Zombies Calling Card Challenge updates
  • After-Action Report improvements

Beyond these changes, players can continue to utilize Double XP boosts until January 3rd. Yet, some gamers discovered that the XP earned in Warzone and Multiplayer wasn’t as much as anticipated. Remarkably, one player demonstrated that they were earning less XP compared to what they would have if they had utilized a Double XP token instead.

As a longtime Call of Duty player with countless hours spent honing my skills and strategizing for multiplayer matches, I’m genuinely thrilled about the upcoming update. The High Roller Wildcard is a game-changer that adds an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay. Being able to equip an additional Scorestreak is a significant advantage for skilled players who frequently achieve high kill games.

What makes this feature particularly appealing is the elimination of looping Killstreaks in BO6’s BO6 format. As someone who has experienced the frustration of being stuck in an endless cycle of Killstreaks, I appreciate the compromise that this update brings. It rewards skilled players without disrupting the overall gameplay experience for everyone involved.

In short, this update offers a perfect blend of excitement and strategic depth, making it an essential addition to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer suite. I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!

Initially, players found great pleasure in uncovering the secret of the elemental swords on Citadelle des Morts upon the map’s release. However, once they obtained these swords, they felt let down.

Compared to other powerful weapons, the swords didn’t pack as much of a wallop. However, in the upcoming update, the swords are getting a power boost, making them more valuable to acquire.
