Black Ops 6 Ban Wave Removes Top Cheater, but More Work Is Expected
In the latest sweep for rule violators, approximately 19,000 cheaters were kicked off the game’s leaderboards, including the Ranked Play ladder. Of particular note, a player known as “Hanser”, who held the top rank in Ranked Play at that time, was also banned. This action sparked varied responses among the gaming community.
The top-ranked player in the Black Ops 6 multiplayer leaderboard, “Hanser,” has been banned and eliminated from the rankings. It’s encouraging that some action is being taken, but there are still many suspected cheaters left on the Top 250 list to address.

Although several players applauded the effectiveness of the anti-cheat system in apprehending prominent cheaters, some voiced annoyance over the lengthy time it takes for these bans to be implemented. One user on X (previously Twitter) commented, “Great, there has been proof that Hanser was using DMA Cheats and Rage Hacking since June 2024. It only took them almost six months to impose the ban.
Another individual stated, “Getting rid of one rat doesn’t solve the infestation. A more effective approach is needed to prevent more rats from appearing.” This mirrors the larger concern: although the ban wave was a positive move, it hasn’t addressed the root cause, as numerous cheaters continue to operate.
