Biggest-ever Lego Lord of the Rings set leaked for 2026

In 2026, Lego plans to release one of its largest sets to date: Minas Tirith, the iconic city from the Lord of the Rings movies directed by Peter Jackson.

Minas Tirith, the capital city of Gondor, appears briefly in the first two films of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers, before taking center stage in The Return of the King. The stunning white city is built on seven tiers and features a dramatic, rocky cliff running through its center.

A trusted source, Brick Tap, reports that Lego is planning to release more Lord of the Rings sets in 2026, including a large set based on Minas Tirith.

Brick Tap reports that the Lego Icons Minas Tirith set is anticipated to be released on June 1, 2026, with an estimated price of $600 to $650. This price is in line with other Lego sets of comparable size and based on licensed properties.

The set will contain 8,278 pieces and feature minifigures of popular characters like Gandalf the White, King Aragorn, Pippin, Denethor, Faramir, four Gondor soldiers, and the horse Shadowfax. It will also include a small-scale model of the city itself.

Okay, so this Lego Lord of the Rings set? It’s not just huge for a LotR build, it’d actually be the sixth largest Lego set ever made, counting all the pieces! Seriously, that’s a massive build!

  1. LEGO Art World Map (11,695 pieces)
  2. LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower (10,001 pieces)
  3. LEGO Icons Titanic (9,090 pieces)
  4. LEGO Colosseum (9,036 pieces)
  5. LEGO Star Wars Death Star (9,023 pieces)
  6. LEGO Icons – Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith (8,278 pieces)
  7. UCS LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon (7,541)
  8. LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (6,785 pieces)
  9. LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest (6,187 pieces)
  10. LEGO Icons – The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell (6,167 pieces)

As a Lego Lord of the Rings fan, I’m super excited! Minas Tirith is going to be the next huge set after Rivendell (from 2023), Barad-dûr (coming in 2024), and The Shire (planned for 2025). And according to Brick Tap, we can expect even more Lego Lord of the Rings sets throughout 2026, which is awesome!

Rumors suggest Lego is planning to release a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time diorama with a Ganondorf figure in March.
