Best Skills And Attributes For Nilan In GreedFall 2: The Dying World

Nilan is a companion you’ll meet early in GreedFall: The Dying World, and he’s likely to be helpful throughout the whole game. He specializes in support, with two of his skill sets focused on healing, boosting your team, and dealing with harmful effects. His remaining skills make him a capable archer when support isn’t needed.

Nilan won’t deal as much damage as characters built for that purpose, and that’s perfectly fine – his strength lies in keeping your team alive. With the right build, he excels at support. We’ll cover the best skills and stats to help you maximize his potential below.

Best Skills For Nilan

Nilan excels as a healer, thanks to his skills – two of his three skill trees focus on support. This makes him a valuable asset during challenging battles.

Paths Of Charity

When following this strategy, prioritize buffs. Early on, choose ‘Words of Support’ and ‘Spiritual Stamina’. Then, in the next tier, grab ‘Words of Retaliation’ and ‘Power Transmission’. Finally, aim for ‘Avatar of Life’ when you reach a higher level.

When improving Nilan’s posture, we suggest focusing on reducing healing skill recovery times. This is his most important attribute to enhance.

We don’t think First Aid is essential for Nilan, and it might even be a drawback if you’re depending on him to fight. While Nilan attacks from a distance, First Aid forces him to get close to heal, which isn’t ideal. Plus, the benefit you get from the skill isn’t really needed for a strong character build, so it’s best to spend those skill points elsewhere.

Bows

Nilan is primarily a healer, so this skill tree isn’t his most important, but it still offers useful abilities. It’s a good idea to unlock all the skills in the first tier to give him options when he’s not needed for healing. These skills also turn him into a surprisingly effective debuffer, allowing him to inflict negative effects on enemies.

If you don’t plan on using tactical combat often, you might want to skip learning Potion Throw. It’s usually not very important on easier difficulty levels!

If you’re deciding between secondary skills, Disabling Shot is a great choice because immobilizing enemies is really useful with ranged characters like Nilan. Predator’s Instinct also works well, especially when combined with an upgraded Coated Arrow.

Okay, so when I was leveling up weapon skills, I found the Action Point reduction super useful. It meant I had more AP for Nilan to heal with, which is always good! And honestly, being able to apply Projection when enemies are Marked felt way more reliable than trying to go for poison or burning with the other option. It just seemed to trigger more consistently, you know?

Rain of Arrows can be a useful ability near the end of a game, but it’s expensive – costing four Action Points. Spending that many points can be risky, especially when you might need them for quick healing. Players who actively control every detail will likely manage this cost effectively, but those who rely on the game’s AI might find it difficult.

Nilan’s Path

Every skill in this progression is valuable. They significantly improve Nilan’s healing abilities and include his core skills, like Initiate’s Healing and Healing Wave. Focus on these first, then prioritize Stone Skin and Natural Harmony as soon as you meet the level requirements.

Best Attributes For Nilan

Nilan, a healer who fights from a distance with a bow, benefits most from increasing his Perception, as this directly boosts his damage output.

Once you’ve maxed out Perception, prioritize improving both Endurance and Focus, but Focus should be your main concern. Since Nilan fights from a distance, he shouldn’t take much damage, so boosting his Focus will allow him to use his abilities more frequently.

After maximizing Perception and Focus, and ensuring your Endurance is good, you can begin increasing your Agility. This will improve your chance to Dodge and boost your Intangibility.
