This game offers a lot of levels, tons of sweet combinations, beautiful artwork, and the same satisfying gameplay loop as Suika Game. It’s both fun and well-made, making it a truly enjoyable experience.

It might seem like you’re simply piling up food, but you’re actually building the dessert orders for your customers. This can be surprisingly satisfying, even when you realize you’re filling a delivery bag, not just randomly stacking items.

Despite appearing straightforward, PancitoMerge is remarkable for its attention to detail and respect for culture. Every element within the game feels purposeful, creating a truly immersive experience.

4. Venba

The Pleasure of Cooking

Since I’m feeling hungry and because it’s one of the most visually stunning story-driven games released recently, it’s no surprise that Venba is on this list.

This game is more than just cooking; it’s a heartwarming story about family and culture. It beautifully introduces you to new flavors and cuisines while offering a delightful gaming experience.

While the game sometimes touches on difficult subjects like prejudice, Venba skillfully balances these heavier moments with a charming and clever gameplay mechanic. Cooking each dish feels like solving an enjoyable puzzle, which keeps the experience lighthearted and engaging.

The game is rich with meaning, features a lovely visual style, and clearly celebrates Indian culture. These qualities make it one of the best relaxing games of recent years.

3. Vendrán las aves

I’ve often said that Deconstructeam is a standout studio because they cleverly explore real-world issues using imaginative and thought-provoking stories. But with their game, The Birds Will Come, they truly outdid themselves.

They took a really simple idea, offered it for free on itch.io, and ended up creating what many are calling the most strangely comforting game of 2025. It’s a unique combination that I don’t think anyone else could have achieved.

This game isn’t appealing because of dazzling visuals, a fantastical plot, or relaxing gameplay. It’s compelling because it realistically portrays the difficulties of modern life, where energy is a limited resource, and it’s far easier to waste time on negativity than to put effort into personal growth.

It’s usually not comforting to come across a book title that highlights things you dislike about your life, like frequently ordering takeout because you lack the energy to cook, or feeling guilty about skipping workouts. However, that’s actually what makes it comforting: realizing someone else understands and shares those everyday struggles.

I’m not sure if it’s unusual for this type of story, but Vendrán las aves evokes a feeling I’ve never experienced before in any similar work. It really resonates with me on a deep level.

Most of us find a certain satisfaction in harmlessly causing chaos – like imagining things falling apart without any real consequences. That’s exactly what makes the game Donut County a great fit for this discussion.

This isn’t just a nostalgic throwback to the Y2K era; it’s a mystery adventure game where you’ll solve computer-based puzzles. You’ll also be in charge of setting up LAN parties – ensuring everyone has an internet connection, the computers and monitors are compatible, and the games are ready to play.

For anyone who grew up fascinated by the early days of the internet – spending hours exploring its possibilities, experimenting with computers, and loving games like Doom and movies like The Matrix – this place is a dream come true.

If you didn’t grow up with local area network (LAN) parties, the game LAN Party Adventures might not resonate with you. But for those who did, it’s a wonderfully nostalgic experience – I didn’t even get teary-eyed remembering the good old days, I was too captivated by the music!
