Best Estela build for Destiny Rising

Estela from Destiny Rising might seem complex, but she’s surprisingly easy to build a strong character around. You don’t need a lot of special gear to get started with her.

In Destiny Rising, Mythic characters are the most powerful, and Estela is no exception. Because they’re so rare, these characters have incredible abilities. Estela focuses on keeping her summoned creatures active while building up ‘Corruption’ with her Pulse Rifle and Machine Gun – the more Corruption she builds, the stronger her summons become.

Estela is a promising new character in Destiny Rising, and when built correctly, she’s proving to be one of the best. If you’re already skilled with powerful damage dealers like Gwynn and Wolf, try adding Estela to your team – this solar-based build will make your gameplay even more exciting!

Best Estela build

Estela’s key strength lies in her Passive ability, Corruption. It lets her accumulate stacks of the ‘Corruption’ buff just by attacking with her weapons. She can then use Bewitched Illusion to consume these stacks, significantly boosting the damage of the sprite she summons.

  • Best Abilities: Corruption & Bewitched Illusion
  • Best Artifacts: Warding Pact, Siphoning Pact, Bellicose Pact, Resonating Pact
  • Best Weapons: Furies III & Gallows

Summoning builds sometimes struggle with targeting, and your summons might not attack the enemy you intend. That’s where Misfortune’s Guide helps. It not only creates Corruption immediately, but it also forces your summons to focus their attacks on whatever enemy is hit, increasing their damage by a significant 35%.

Estela’s ultimate ability is called Violent Reverie. It summons a huge, dragon-like creature that deals massive damage to a single enemy. Despite its size, the creature is also effective against groups thanks to its high damage and fast attacks, quickly eliminating even large numbers of enemies.

Abilities

See below for a rundown of Estela’s three primary abilities:

  • Corruption (Passive): Attacking combatants with weapons accumulates Corruption, up to 10 times per second. Casting Bewitched Illusion consumes Corruption. This ability cannot be cast without sufficient energy.
  • Bewitched Illusion (Signature 1): Estela summons a Bewitched Illusion to join the battlefield and fight combatants on its own. The more Corruption she has accumulated, the higher the level of the summoned Bewitched Illusion will be. Higher level Bewitched Illusions deal greater damage.
  • Misfortune’s Guide (Signature 2): Unleashes contaminated energy, dealing damage to hit combatants and inflicting them with Misfortune.
  • Violent Reverie (Super): Summons a powerful Violent Reverie to continuously attack combatants by firing a contaminating beam.

Artifacts

Artifacts are items that boost your character’s abilities and how you play the game. Keep in mind that each Artifact fits into a specific equipment slot, and you can only have one Artifact in each slot at a time.

In this update, we’ve improved both Estela’s healing and damage output. Since she doesn’t normally have a way to heal herself, the Siphoning Pact is crucial for keeping her alive and allowing her summons to continue fighting. When equipped, it restores almost 6% of her health each time a summon gets an assist. Bellicose Pact was an easy addition, as it directly increases the damage dealt by Estela’s summons.

The last two Artifacts, Warding Pact and Resonating Pact, significantly boost Estela’s power. Warding Pact makes Estela more durable by reducing damage she takes for each summon she has active. Resonating Pact increases the damage her summons deal, especially when they focus on the same enemy. With Misfortune’s Guide, you can consistently ensure her summons and Estela attack the same target, maximizing this benefit.

Artifact
Effect
Warding Pact (Slot 1)
Gain 1 stack of Ward for every active summon. Each stack reduces damage by 3.85%
Siphoning Pact (Slot 2)
Active summons restore 5.94% health when assisting with any final blow
Bellicose Pact (Slot 3)
The user’s summons deal +12.95% damage
Resonating Pact (Slot 4)
Summons deal +16.45% damage when attacking the same target as the user

Weapons

Estela relies mostly on her skills for damage, so weapon damage itself isn’t crucial. However, you definitely want a weapon that attacks quickly, as this helps build up her Corruption stacks with each hit.

Luckily, both the Furies III and the Gallows are excellent choices for fast firing. The Furies III has a special ability, Neural Currents, that makes it fire increasingly faster the longer you hold the trigger. The Gallows, being a weapon of its type, already fires very quickly.

We recommend using the Gallows catalyst for this setup because it boosts your fire rate by another 20%. Combined with other upgrades, you’ll create a surplus of Corruption. Plus, Furies III is simple to obtain – it’s a reward in the Destiny Rising battle pass. Getting a catalyst for Gallows is a bit luck-based, as it comes from random Exotic Engrams.

How to play Estela

Now that you understand how Estela functions, you’re likely curious about how everything connects and works as a whole.

Luckily, Estela is very easy to play. Simply use Furies III and Gallows to quickly build up Corruption stacks on your enemies. Once you have full stacks, cast Bewitched Illusion and let your summoned creature defeat them for you.

When facing tougher enemies, make sure both you and your summoned creatures focus your attacks on the same target using Misfortune’s Guide – this will significantly increase your damage. Save Violent Reverie for moments when you need a quick, powerful attack. Keep repeating this strategy to maximize your effectiveness.
