Ben Stiller and His Focker-in-Law Might Reunite

As a movie-goer who has spent countless evenings cackling at the antics of Greg Focker and his in-laws, I must say, it feels like a warm, familiar hug to hear that Universal Pictures is planning a fourth installment of the beloved “Meet the Parents” franchise.

It’s been a while since we last caught up – over 14 years to be exact! Interestingly, there are rumors that Universal Pictures is planning a fourth installment of “Meet the Parents.” As reported by Deadline, Ben Stiller and his on-screen father-in-law Robert De Niro are in early discussions for reprising their roles alongside Teri Polo and Blythe Danner. The original cast starred in the 2000 comedy “Meet the Parents,” followed by “Meet the Fockers” in 2004 and “Little Fockers” in 2010. The series revolves around the couple Greg Focker (Stiller) and Pam Byrnes (Polo) and their contrasting families. Although Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand played Greg’s parents, it remains uncertain if they will return for the upcoming sequel. The same can be said about Owen Wilson, who portrayed Pam’s ex-boyfriend Kevin.

Although there may be some new faces, a few familiar ones are expected to return for the crew. According to reports, Jay Roach, who has produced and directed all three “Meet the Parents” films, is set to produce the upcoming installment alongside Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Jane Rosenthal, and John Lesher. Meanwhile, John Hamburg will likely continue his role in the franchise by writing the script for the fourth movie. No official plot details have been released yet, but considering the age of the characters, it’s likely that “Meet the Parents 4” will focus on the Byrnes and Focker families as they grow older. As of now, potential titles include “Meet the Grandparents” or “Old Fockers.
