Last week, viewers suggested that firing both Tessa and Christian would be the best way to improve the deck team, and Nathan does just that, advising Captain Sandy to let them go at the start of this week’s episode. It took courage to cut half his team, and Sandy approves of his boldness, agreeing to rebuild. She fires Christian first, explaining concerns about safety and how efficiently things were running. Then she calls Tessa to the bridge. While Nathan speaks to Tessa more than he did to Christian, Sandy ultimately makes the final decision. She tells Tessa to pack her bags and head to the small boats, but Tessa responds with an angry outburst. Christian takes the news surprisingly well, while Tessa remains bitter, blaming Nathan’s leadership for the situation.
Neither Max nor Christian seems bothered by their mistakes, and Max is clearly thrilled. As he says goodbye to Christian, he can’t resist a final jab: “I told you a million times!” After they leave, V asks Kizzi if she thinks it’s possible to move to the deck crew. V feels a little insecure because Max and Christian are more experienced, but Kizzi reminds her that V had no experience with interior tasks and is doing a fantastic job as a stewardess. V then talks to Nathan, who promises to discuss it with the captain. This whole situation, where V wants to switch to deckhand, feels manufactured for the show. V rarely mentioned having deck experience before this week, and now she’s suddenly eager to leave the laundry room. It makes sense that she’d want a different job—anything is better than laundry—but her sudden interest in working on deck feels a little forced.
It also seems unfair to Aesha, who is one person short-staffed but remains a team player, prioritizing the boat’s needs. Ultimately, moving V to the deck crew is just a temporary fix. Luckily, Sandy finds a replacement deckhand just before the guests arrive: Joe, who worked with them last season, much to Nathan’s delight. Nathan considers Joe his “best friend” and playfully suggests he would have let Christian and Tessa go sooner if he’d known Joe was available. V doesn’t officially start helping with deck work until the morning of the new charter, which makes Kizzi rethink encouraging V to switch, as she realizes losing V means more work for herself.
Before anything else, the crew enjoys a well-deserved night off. Kizzi immediately makes a splash, first by showing Nathan a surprising party trick – fitting her whole fist in her mouth – and then by boldly asking about Joe’s potential feelings for her. The crew keeps mentioning Tommy, who’s been feeling left out, but Kizzi insists she’s not trying to get attention. Max creates his own version of events, deciding that Tommy won’t come between him and Kizzi. He’s surprisingly more concerned about Joe, even asking Nathan if he can invite his best friend to work on the boat with them. Despite the potential for drama, the night turns out to be surprisingly pleasant. Aesha talks to Josh about the next charter, advising him not to feel pressured to do everything the guests want (little does he know how chaotic things will get!). And Nathan encourages Max, telling him that if he can control his emotions, he’ll be on the path to becoming a permanent deckhand. This conversation eases Max’s worries about Joe joining the crew.
Back at the cabin, Kizzi asks Aesha for her opinion on her relationship, but it’s clear she’s hoping Aesha will tell her to end things with Tommy. Everyone already knows Aesha’s feelings about dating while working on a yacht – she thinks it’s tough even when you genuinely like someone. The next morning, Joe arrives and immediately embraces Nathan. He quickly connects with V, and then starts showing interest in Kizzi. Let’s not forget the drama Joe caused with Bri and Ellie, both stewardesses, last season. Any reasonable person would wonder if they really want to repeat that chaos. But people who work on superyachts aren’t always reasonable, and signing up for a Bravo show definitely doesn’t help. From the moment Joe steps onto the Bravado, it’s obvious things are about to get complicated again.
As a storm approaches, Captain Sandy decides to keep the yacht docked for the first night of the charter. The first guests arrive – a group led by Ladonna, known for being very picky eaters. Two of them are vegan, and the rest have strong preferences. Since the Bravado isn’t sailing, Sandy organizes a land trip with the crew. Aesha assigns V to lead it, and Nathan sends Joe along to help. Both V and Joe speak Spanish, and Joe, having grown up nearby, is familiar with the city. V greets Joe with a playful “Buenos días, guapo,” immediately establishing a flirty dynamic. Aesha jokingly compares them as “a wee little innocent fish and a big bad shark.”
It’s becoming clear that Kizzi, not Joe, might be the real threat to V. While V and Joe were casually talking about the ship’s gym, Kizzi surprisingly offered to be used as a weight for Joe’s curls. Earlier, V openly admitted to Kizzi that she found Joe attractive, revealing her own interest. I’ve been sympathetic to Kizzi for a while, but her actions are starting to annoy me. Everyone has the right to choose their own relationships, but it’s unattractive to be so openly desperate for male attention, especially when it means potentially hurting another woman. It’s probably too early to be certain – Joe has only just arrived – but it seems obvious where this situation is headed.
Thankfully, the immediate focus isn’t on romantic entanglements during the Bravado‘s time in Barcelona. Ladonna’s friends tend to complain about everything. Before they arrived, Josh felt prepared to offer good vegan meals – he’d spent nine months living on a vegan commune, growing his own food and experiencing…let’s just say unusual activities he’d rather forget. Even before Josh officially starts, Carlos, a guest who’s also a bit of a troublemaker, immediately challenges him, stating dismissively, “We’re vegan,” as if Josh wouldn’t already know.
Despite knowing what was coming, serving Carlos lunch was still stressful. The guests surprisingly took the news about staying on the dock pretty well – Josh had worried it would ruin their mood – and the crew began bringing out the carefully prepared meal. He served a variety of dishes: salads, zucchini, corn, oysters and caviar, Hamachi tuna, butter beans, radishes, cucumbers, tomatoes, and chickpea stew. However, half the guests weren’t hungry, and the other half felt it wasn’t enough food. Carlos complained that it felt more like a collection of appetizers than a substantial meal, though he might have been satisfied with what was offered. Instead of eating what was prepared, guests started requesting other items – fried oysters, a vegan wrap, french fries, and prawns.
It’s clear some of the guests don’t realize they’re not at a restaurant—they’re on a boat, which has limited space and resources. There’s only one chef, and he doesn’t work from a menu, so special requests aren’t possible. Despite this, Carlos—who isn’t the main organizer—went to the kitchen after lunch to ask the chef for more variety. Josh promised a substantial dinner, but on his way out, Carlos threw his leftover wrap right in front of the chef! Josh could have gotten upset, but he calmly checked with Ladonna about the meal. They decided to serve dinner family-style to try and satisfy everyone’s dietary needs. Then, Ladonna and her friend Chandra started requesting a huge spread: pasta, risotto, fried chicken, fish, and vegan dishes—a lot for a boat kitchen!
While Josh is having some personal reflections, Kizzi and Aesha are preparing a cowboy-themed dinner. Meanwhile, V and Joe are leading the guests on an outing and taking the chance to flirt with each other. Onboard the Bravado, Kizzi confesses to Nathan that she’s attracted to Joe and admits it’s difficult to think about her partner back home when she’s feeling desire. Despite the potential for drama, the deck crew seems happier with Joe around. Nathan and Joe have fun all day while still getting their work done, and Nathan is impressed by V’s skills at throwing a rope. Aesha needs help with the cabins, so Nathan pitches in with dinner service. For the moment, the deck and interior teams are working together smoothly.
Despite a rough lunch, dinner was looking promising, but Carlos was determined to spoil things for Josh. He started complaining about being hungry on the ride back, and even Aesha’s Jell-O shots couldn’t cheer him up – he claimed they contained pork. Ignoring Aesha’s advice to not cater to every guest’s request, Josh went all out, preparing steak, corn, fish, both vegan and regular mashed potatoes, vegan pasta, a tomato-beet salad with cucumbers and pomegranate, chicken, and garlic mushrooms. Everyone enjoyed the meal except Carlos, who felt it lacked minerals. After complaining about his lunch salad, he now criticized the lack of healthy greens at dinner, wanting them but not in salad form. Aesha, shocked, told Josh what she’d overheard, and he was so upset he went outside for some air. Being docked did have one benefit, though there was still a full day left with these demanding guests.
