Battlefield 7 leaks at its best. New material shows destruction with a hammer

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel unphased by the ongoing leaks from the upcoming Battlefield tests. Over the past month, these leaks have been a constant stream, offering glimpses of concept art, inspirations for the third and fourth games in the series, and destructible environments. It’s particularly intriguing to delve into the environmental destruction aspect.

Hammer for destroying structures

According to the recent reports (from MP1st), it seems that DICE studio is planning to incorporate melee weapons into the upcoming version of Battlefield. This addition is said to offer an intriguing feature where players can demolish environmental elements, like walls, for added strategy.

In the video, a player can be seen smashing a wall with a big hammer. With each strike, particular pieces crumble, creating a lively visual effect. It’s unclear whether the hammer works on all kinds of structures, but if it makes an appearance in the complete version, it will undoubtedly bring an engaging aspect to the gameplay.

Improved voice chat and types of ammunition

Beyond the hammer video, additional details were uncovered from the Battlefield Labs files as well. For example, we discovered that the updated voice chat feature will include four different modes.

  1. Automatic, the game itself decides on the appropriate mode.
  2. Flat, reproduced without any effects.
  3. Directional, the voice is positioned in relation to the place where the soldier is located.
  4. In the game world, the voice will be appropriately distant or close depending on the proximity of the soldier.

Moreover, there are 10 types of ammunition with varied effects. The last three are for shotguns.

  1. FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) – basic one with standard penetration.
  2. Tungsten Core – a heavier core providing greater penetration and recoil.
  3. Frangible – breaks apart upon impact, slowing down health regeneration.
  4. Polymer Case – a lightweight casing that provides greater mobility when aiming.
  5. Hollow Point – expands upon impact, ensuring greater damage when shot in the head.
  6. Synthetic Tip – a synthetic tip that increases range and damage when shooting in the head.
  7. Match Grade – precise ammunition with excellent ballistic parameters.
  8. Buckshot – standard load for a shotgun.
  9. Flechette – steel projectiles with better penetration, which slow down regeneration.
  10. Slug – a single, heavy projectile causing significantly more damage.

The as-yet-unrevealed launch date for the latest edition of Battlefield is yet to be pinned down, however, Electronic Arts (EA) has indicated that it will be released prior to April 1st, 2026.
