The latest update for Battlefield 6, called California Resistance, is now available. It includes a new map called Eastwood, and players have already found a fun surprise hidden within it: a reference to the popular TV show Breaking Bad! It’s a well-known scene from the series that fans will likely recognize.
The new Eastwood map in Battlefield features a pizza on the roof of one building’s garage, a nod to a memorable scene from the show’s third season. In the episode “Caballo sin Nombre,” Walter White angrily throws a whole pizza onto a roof, and players can now spot that same pizza (or one very much like it) in the game.
This scene became an internet meme, and other games, like High on Life, have referenced it as well.

The story behind the pizza toss in Breaking Bad is pretty interesting. Writer Peter Gould remembered thinking it would be a really tough shot to pull off – Bryan Cranston had to throw the pizza box, get the pizza to come loose, and then land it perfectly for the camera, all at the same time.
Surprisingly, Cranston delivered a perfect performance on the very first attempt, which Gould considered highly improbable. Even the show’s creator, Vince Gilligan, was amazed. He described it as a flawlessly natural moment that seemed almost unbelievable.
The show’s popularity led fans to visit the Albuquerque home where a famous scene was filmed and attempt to recreate it. This bothered the homeowners, and the show’s creator, Gilligan, had to ask fans to stop. The house was recently listed for sale for almost $4 million—ten times its estimated worth—but it hasn’t sold yet, according to Zillow.
To create a realistic setting for his new show, Pluribus, which is set in Albuquerque, Gilligan’s team actually built a whole cul-de-sac of houses. They did this to prevent fans from flocking to a private residence, as happened with a previous show when people tried to visit the character’s home.
Battlefield 6’s Season 1 update, called California Resistance, introduces the Eastwood map and a new game mode called Sabotage. Players can also unlock rewards through the event pass, with both free and downloadable content available.
According to recent sales figures from Circana, Battlefield 6 was the top-selling game in the US for both October and for the year 2025 to date. It sold more copies in its first month than both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
