Battlefield 6’s Buggy Update Is Being Fixed, As New Patches Scheduled And Tournament Delayed

Battlefield 6 received the Winter Offensive update on December 9th, introducing new content and a special event. However, the update also caused several gameplay problems. These issues were significant enough that the developers have delayed the $1 million Redsec tournament and shared details about upcoming fixes.

The recent Winter Offensive update brought a number of problems to the game on all platforms. Players experienced bugs in Breakthrough and Portal modes, and those on PC reported performance issues like stuttering. Some players were even unable to access game modes due to a problem with the main menu.

The developer shared a new update for the community, explaining what problems they’re aware of and what improvements are coming before the holidays.

The post states that several problems have already been fixed with quick updates. These include a solution for the Winter Offensive event pass not allowing players to skip tiers, corrected experience points for daily challenges, and accurate ticket counts for Conquest mode. The updates also fix issues with how players move and a bug that sometimes left players stuck in the air while looking at their planes.

We’re continuing to work on other issues and will include fixes in future updates. PC players can look forward to an update on December 12th that resolves the game’s occasional stuttering and improves the main menu and firing range. Console players will receive a similar update on December 15th, also with improvements to the main menu and firing range.

Because of technical problems, the Battlefield Redsec Elite Series has been postponed. The tournament, which promised a $1 million battle royale competition for both professional and up-and-coming players, doesn’t have a new date yet.

The developer says they sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. They emphasize that the players’ time, enthusiasm, and dedication to the game have been incredibly valuable and are deeply appreciated.

The developer confirms they are still dedicated to the Battlefield Redsec Elite Series and will share more information next year.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited about the Winter Offensive update! It’s bringing a totally cool winter look to the maps, plus a new event pass to grind for rewards. They’re even adding a new melee weapon, which I can’t wait to try out. It sounds like a really packed update!
