Players of Battlefield 6 are frustrated with the lengthy process of unlocking weapon camos, and many feel the effort required doesn’t match the rewards they receive.
Battlefield 6, similar to other online multiplayer games, lets you earn a lot of rewards simply by playing. You can unlock things like new weapon upgrades and different character appearances for each of the game’s classes.
So, you can unlock cool skins, or ‘camos,’ for each of your guns. I do this by just playing the game with them and getting kills – basically leveling up each gun’s mastery. The more I use a weapon and the better I do with it, the more options I get to customize how it looks!
Since the game launched on October 10th, many players have said it takes too long to make progress, and the final rewards aren’t good enough to justify the effort.
BF6 players call out underwhelming weapon rewards
Players are saying it currently takes a significant amount of time – sometimes up to 15 hours – to fully upgrade a weapon and earn the special mastery camouflage. While the exact time depends on how skilled a player is, even experienced streamers have reported spending over 10 hours maxing out a single gun.
When the final camouflage design for the Kord 6P67 Assault Rifle was revealed, many players wondered if the changes were significant enough, as it appeared very similar to the original weapon.

One person commented, questioning whether the camouflage pattern was actually applied to the gun or if it was a joke.

Someone else commented that it’s unbelievable people would spend so much time earning a silly camouflage pattern for a weapon.
Some players are annoyed by how long it takes to unlock weapon levels and camouflage, but they’d be happy to put in the effort if they saw better rewards for doing so.
One player commented playfully, “I’m not expecting anything too over-the-top, but this feels like the kind of reward you get at level 5!”
It’s still very early days for Battlefield 6, having just launched. With Season 1 on the way and lots more content planned, you can expect many new and interesting camouflage options to unlock soon.
