Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale Mode Could Be A Shadowdrop Next Week

The upcoming battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 might be unexpectedly released as early as next week. This is based on information discovered through game data analysis and reports from insider sources.

According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming and reports from Modern Warzone, a battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 will be unexpectedly released on October 28th. Data discovered within the game files, codenamed “Granite,” appears to confirm this is the new battle royale mode.

Battlefield Studios is creating a battle royale game mode, but details are still scarce. They haven’t announced if it will be free-to-play or require purchase. This wouldn’t be the first time EA has surprised players with a battle royale release; they launched Apex Legends unexpectedly in February 2019 with very little prior announcement.

I remember when EA first jumped into the battle royale scene with Battlefield V’s Firestorm mode way back in 2019, but it just didn’t really take off. Now, with the next Battlefield, they’re giving it another shot, and it’s going to be tough competing with giants like Fortnite, PUBG, and Call of Duty: Warzone. It’s a crowded space, that’s for sure!

Electronic Arts (EA) is currently testing a battle royale mode for the upcoming Battlefield 6 with a dedicated community of testers called Battlefield Labs. EA recently shared details about the updates they’ve made to this mode, including:

  • Close-range TTK: We’ve adjusted time-to-kill at close range for all weapons to reward clean positioning and tracking while giving players more time to counter attacks. We’ll keep monitoring this once it’s live.
  • Armor Changes: Everyone will now have the capacity for 2 armor plates at the start of the game. All players will spawn with 1 plate, so you will have the chance to upgrade as soon as you start looting, giving everyone an equal chance at upgrading their armor fully.
  • World Improvements: We’ve been fixing pesky world bugs and optimizing areas to improve the environment. With these improvements, we made adjustments to the lighting as well as enhancing the visibility across the map.
  • Vehicle Balance: We’ve adjusted the balance for helicopters and combat vehicles to keep them as powerful tools showing off Battlefield’s core DNA, without making them necessary to survive or win the late game. This includes significant adjustments to the heli countermeasures and ammo economy.

Battlefield 6’s first season of updates launches on October 28th, bringing fresh maps and game modes to multiplayer.

Battlefield 6 had a very successful launch on October 10th, selling 7 million copies immediately – making it the best-selling opening week in the series’ history. You can find a detailed review of the game on TopMob.
