Battlefield 6 Weapon Recoil Will Feel “Smoother” After Next Update

Battlefield Studios has revealed what players can expect in the next two updates for Battlefield 6, including details on upcoming balance changes and adjustments to the game.

Battlefield Studios announced on their official X (formerly Twitter) account that they’ve been listening to player feedback and are actively working on improvements to the game.

The next big update for California Resistance, launching November 18th, will introduce a new California map, a new weapon, and a new vehicle. A key focus of this update is improving weapon handling. Battlefield Studios is adjusting how accurately weapons fire (dispersion) for all guns, and also fine-tuning the recoil on most of them.

As a Battlefield player, I’m really happy with the recent weapon updates! They just feel better to use, and everything’s way more consistent, which is especially noticeable when you’re shooting at a distance. It seems like these changes are encouraging more long-range battles, which is awesome – I’ve definitely been trying to snipe more!

In addition to improvements to how guns kick back, the game’s aim assist feature is being adjusted to feel more like it did during the initial test phase. Battlefield Studios says this will make aiming feel smoother and more consistent.

The update also improves how easily you can see enemies. Players previously found the bright sunlight in Battlefield 6 made it hard to spot opponents, especially when moving between indoors and outdoors. The November 18 update will adjust the lighting to make enemies more visible in different conditions. Additionally, challenge descriptions will be clearer and easier to understand, making it simpler to track your progress.

On December 9th, Battlefield Studios will update the game with changes to Breakthrough and Rush modes on specific maps, and also balance vehicle performance. In Breakthrough, they’re making it easier for attackers to advance on maps like the first section of Mirak Valley. For Rush, the locations where you capture MCOMs on Manhattan Bridge and Liberation Peak will be adjusted.

Battlefield Studios has several improvements planned for the coming weeks, and they’re also exploring other potential changes for the future. These include tweaks to challenges, better user interface and menus, improvements to how accurately shots connect, balancing vehicles, and updates to map design.

Many Battlefield 6 players have expressed concern that the maps are too small. Battlefield Studios has responded by saying they plan to offer a wider range of map sizes and styles in future updates, and they’ll be taking inspiration from maps created by the player community within the game’s Portal feature.

The team is planning some updates for Battlefield Redsec’s free-to-play battle royale mode. These include adding a solo queue option, re-evaluating how armor works, potentially adding tanks to the gameplay, and improving the audio so vehicle and footstep sounds are clearer and more reliable.

Battlefield 6 had a successful launch, reportedly selling around 10 million copies according to one industry expert. A recent update fixed the game’s most well-known glitch. Regarding a new downloadable content pack released for Veteran’s Day, Electronic Arts (EA) won’t be donating the proceeds directly, but will instead be making a separate donation to the National Ranger Association.
