Battlefield 6‘s first season starts on October 28th, and Battlefield Studios has announced the schedule for the first big updates, including gameplay balancing and new content.
I’m so excited! On October 28th, the 1.1.1.0 update is dropping at 9:00 UTC, so we’ll be able to download it and jump into the game with all the newest changes and fixes. Then, later that same day at 3:00 PM UTC, Season 1 is officially here! That means we’ll finally get the battle pass, the new map, the Strikepoint mode, and all the fresh weapons. Can’t wait!

The battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 is planned to launch with Season 1 and will likely be free to play under the name Battlefield: RedSec. While the mode hasn’t been officially announced, Battlefield Studios has shared some upcoming changes – like adjustments to armor and how quickly players are eliminated – based on feedback gathered during testing with Battlefield Labs.
The Season 1 update will bring several improvements, including smoother animations, better vaulting, and more accurate weapon handling. We’re also updating the lighting to address player feedback about the harsh sunlight, and enhancing the overall audio experience. These are just some of the changes coming in the patch.
Battlefield 6’s Season 1 will kick off with the addition of the Blackwell Fields map, plus a new carbine, pistol, and sniper rifle. More free content arrives November 18th, including the limited-time Sabotage mode, a new shotgun, and the Eastwood map set in California.
I’m really excited about the future of Battlefield 6! It’s already had a fantastic launch, selling 7 million copies in its first week. I read a review from TopMob, and they seemed to agree it’s a great step forward for the series – a real return to what makes Battlefield fun, even if it’s not quite as amazing as some of the older games at their best.
