Following feedback from players, DICE has confirmed they are making changes to Battlefield 6 to make it faster to level up.
Battlefield 6 is generally being praised as a step in the right direction for the series, but some early problems have emerged. Many players are frustrated with the slow rate of experience (XP) gain, which makes unlocking new weapons, equipment, and upgrades feel like a tedious process.
The developers have announced significant changes designed to make ranking up easier and more enjoyable.
BF6 are making weapons and attachments easier to unlock
On October 17th, the developers announced on X that they’re increasing XP gains based on player feedback. Players will earn 10% more XP from matches and 40% more from daily bonuses to better reward their time.
We’ve made it faster to unlock attachments for weapons. You’ll now earn them at almost double the speed as you progress through the first 20 ranks.

We’re also making it easier to unlock Assignments, which are a way to earn new weapons. Previously, these required a significant amount of effort and some challenges could take a long time to finish, but we’re lowering the rank requirements to make them more accessible.
Starting now, certain assignments will be available earlier in your career. Previously, you needed to be at ranks 20, 23, and 26 to start these assignments. Now, you’ll be able to begin them at ranks 10, 15, and 20 instead.
I was so happy to hear that the team is planning to make the Assignments a little easier! They said they need to test things out first, which makes sense, but it’s great news that they’re looking into it. Hopefully, we’ll see those changes soon!
The developers explained they want to make improving your skills and equipment feel more natural and satisfying, while still giving you a strong sense of accomplishment when you reach a significant goal, like becoming proficient with a weapon.
Before these updates, some players were using community-run servers, called Portals, to quickly gain experience points. But DICE is now limiting this practice because it was causing a shortage of players on the main game servers.
