When Battlefield 6 launched, some players who had pre-ordered the game couldn’t play. The game wouldn’t start and incorrectly claimed they hadn’t purchased the content they already owned, leaving them unable to play for hours.
EA confirmed on October 10th that a problem with its EA app caused some players to be unable to access their games. Others received messages saying they were missing content they had already purchased, like downloadable content or the main game files.
EA confirms compensation after widespread lockout
After fixing the recent issue, the developers of Battlefield have announced they will be giving affected players some in-game rewards as compensation, according to a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
To make up for the problems players experienced at launch, we’re offering a package that includes bonus experience boosters and complete access to the current seasonal Battle Pass.
Anyone affected who already purchased the Battle Pass will instead get free access to Season 2’s.
Just to explain, this is one reward from the Battle Pass. Since the Phantom Edition also includes Battlefield Pro, we’ve adjusted where this reward appears to make room for both.

EA says the problem happened because its system for checking game licenses mistakenly identified valid accounts as invalid. They’ve released an update for all platforms, and restarting the game should fix it for most people.
Battlefield 6 received excellent reviews, but its popularity has caused some initial problems. Alongside a specific bug, many players experienced long waits in line to even start the game. The developers implemented these queues intentionally, believing they were needed to keep the game running reliably for all players.
