Battlefield 6 code hides something that fans of the shooter are eagerly waiting for. Apparently, Electronic Arts wants to fulfill their request

After months of anticipation, Electronic Arts‘ new Battlefield game is now available. While it launched with some technical problems, the game has been well-received, earning mostly positive reviews (90% on Steam) and drawing huge crowds of players on its first day.

The game’s launch was a hit, but the developers know this is only the beginning. To maintain player engagement, the team at EA DICE will need to consistently release new content, including maps, game modes, and vehicles.

Development of these features is already happening, but it will take some time before we see them in the game. Insider Gaming recently found references to new boats – Jet Skis and Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) – within the game’s multiplayer files. The following code snippets hint at this upcoming content:

  1. Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_JetSki
  2. Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_RHIB

So, I’ve been hearing that “Glacier” is the working title for *Battlefield 6*, and “MP” just stands for multiplayer, which makes sense. But the really cool thing is, the developers have actually said they’ve seen all our requests for naval combat – they know we want it! It sounds like they’re at least considering adding it, which is awesome.

The Battlefield series has featured water combat before, notably in “Battlefield 4” with boats and jet skis. Now, EA DICE appears to be bringing this popular feature back in a new installment of the game.

As a huge fan, I’m really excited for what’s coming next in the game, but it’s still a mystery when we’ll see new content drop. I was hoping the first season would include maps with oceans for naval battles, but it looks like those will have to wait. Still, I’m holding out hope that EA might dedicate a whole season to naval warfare, kind of like they’ve done with other themes before. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
