Battlefield 6’s Season 1 update, called California Resistance, is now available! It adds the Eastwood map for multiplayer, plus two new weapons, a new attachment, and an event pass with extra rewards. This guide will help you finish the California Resistance challenges and get all the new gear for your Battlefield 6 loadout.
The new California Resistance update introduces the DB-12 shotgun and the M357 Trait sidearm as playable weapons, along with the Slim Handstop attachment. Best of all, you can unlock all three of these items without spending any money, and here’s how to get them.
How to unlock the DB-12

The DB-12 is a shotgun with two barrels that you pump to load new shells. It fires one shell from one barrel each time you pull the first trigger, and then fires from the other barrel with a second trigger pull. After each pull, the pumping action gets both barrels ready to fire again.
You can get the DB-12 shotgun for free by participating in the new California Resistance event pass. It’s the last of 11 rewards you’ll unlock as you progress through the pass.
How to unlock the M357 Trait

The M357 is a new, powerful revolver introduced in Season 1. It deals a lot of damage, but its slow firing rate keeps it balanced. It holds eight rounds.
You can unlock the M357 Trait pistol by finishing a new challenge added for Season 1. You’ll find it in the Season 1 challenge section, and it asks you to complete two tasks.
- Get 30 kills with the GGH-22 or M44 sidearms
- Get 5 headshot kills with pistols
How to unlock the Slim Handstop

The Slim Handstop is a new grip that gives shooters an option beyond traditional under-barrel attachments. It’s designed to improve comfort and control.
You can unlock the Slim Handstop by finishing a new challenge that’s part of Season 1. You’ll find it in the Season 1 challenges section, and you need to complete two tasks to earn it.
- Deal 1,500 hip-fire damage
- Get 50 close-quarter kills (meaning at less than 15 meters)
The latest California Resistance update for Battlefield 6 includes a significant improvement to aim-assist, designed to make aiming feel more fluid and consistent. For a complete list of changes, be sure to read the full patch notes for update 1.1.2.0.
