I’m so excited about this story! It’s set in this crazy, rough place called Scrapyard, which is way down below this amazing city in the sky, Zalem. It starts when this doctor, Daisuke Ido, finds the head of a cyborg woman who can’t remember anything. He rebuilds her, gives her a new body, and she ends up calling herself Alita. Then, she goes on this incredible journey to figure out who she was, and she’s constantly battling really tough cyborgs along the way. She’s a total master of this martial art called Panzer Kunst, and she uses her skills to become a kind of hero, protecting people as a mercenary. It’s seriously action-packed and I can’t wait to see what happens!
Battle Angel Alita: Last Order
Yukito Kishiro revisited Battle Angel Alita in 2000 with the ‘Last Order’ storyline, which ran until 2014 and spanned 19 volumes. The first 15 volumes are available in five convenient paperback collections, but the last four volumes are hard to find as physical copies. However, all four can be purchased digitally for $7 each on Kindle.
Battle Angel Alita: Mars Chronicle
Yukito Kishiro has been developing a new, extensive story arc called Mars Chronicle since 2014. The first volume in English will be available on February 10th. Fans can currently pre-order Battle Angel Alita: Mars Chronicle Vol. 1 for $11 on Amazon. While most of the volumes in the Mars Chronicle arc are still available in paperback, a few are becoming rare and are only available at inflated prices from secondary sellers.

James Cameron, known for directing huge hits like Terminator 2, True Lies, Titanic, and Avatar, had long dreamed of bringing the Battle Angel Alita story to the big screen. Though he worked on the project for years, it was Robert Rodriguez who ultimately directed the film, with Cameron serving as a producer and co-writer. Released in 2019 as Alita: Battle Angel, the movie is a well-done adaptation featuring Rose Salazar, and it’s a great watch for fans of the original manga.
You can now find Alita: Battle Angel on 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD for great prices! If you missed it in theaters or want to own a copy, the 4K Blu-ray is just $18, while the Blu-ray is only $10.
