As a huge Batman fan, I gotta say the Arkham series, starting with the first game in 2009, totally changed superhero gaming for me. I loved how smoothly you could fight, sneak around, and play as Batman against all his classic enemies while trying to save Gotham. Because the story can get a little confusing, I put together a guide listing all the Arkham games in two ways: the order they happened in the Batman universe, and the order they were actually released. That way, you can play through the series however you like!
