Bandai Namco has announced a new role-playing game based on Sword Art Online, the incredibly popular series set within a virtual reality online world. Sword Art Online began as a series of light novels but quickly grew into a hit anime, and has spawned numerous video games. The latest game, Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream, was a special anniversary release centered around cooperative raid battles.
The next Sword Art Online game, Echoes of Aincrad, was revealed in a new trailer on the official Bandai Namco YouTube channel. The trailer shows a dangerous threat to the world of Aincrad and lets players step into the shoes of a hero. Echoes of Aincrad will be released on July 10, 2026, and pre-orders are available now.
