Surprisingly, a game called Megabonk became a huge hit on Steam in September. It’s essentially a wacky and over-the-top take on the popular game *Vampire Survivors*, and many industry experts have been discussing its unexpected success in recent days.
Michael Douse, the publishing director of Larian Studios, wrote:
Megabonk is perfect brain rot and I mean that as a complement.
Meanwhile, Bucky, the publishing manager from Pocketpair known for Palworld, said:
I’m completely obsessed with *Megabonk* – it’s taken over my thoughts and free time, and honestly, nothing else I’ve played lately has been able to compare.
I started playing *BL4* again after a week-long break, hoping to get back into the story, but I just couldn’t seem to reconnect with it.
…back on the Megabonk now.
Popular streamer Shroud also commented on the game, saying:
Megabonk might just be GOTY.

Players are loving Megabonk! On Steam, 94% of reviews are positive, and the game is proving very popular. Yesterday, over 103,000 people were playing at the same time – a new peak close to its record of 117,336. Plus, it’s already sold over a million copies in just two weeks!
Megabonk is available only on PC. The game can be purchased on Steam for $9.99.
