Clouded Leopard Entertainment announced that Back to the Dawn, the prison break RPG, will launch on Nintendo Switch worldwide on March 5, 2026.
Just to clarify, Back to the Dawn launched on PC through Steam on July 17th of this year. Besides the Nintendo Switch versions (1 & 2), Metal Head Games also plans to release the game on PlayStation 5, but a specific release date isn’t available yet – they’re currently aiming for sometime in 2026.
The game currently supports Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional), English, Japanese, and Korean. When the game comes to consoles, players can look forward to voice acting in Chinese and Japanese. Clouded Leopard Entertainment has announced that Shugo Nakamura will voice Thomas the Fox, and Yasuhiro Mamiya will voice Bob the Black Panther in the Japanese version.

This prison is huge, with plenty of activities and areas to discover, but it’s important to follow the rules – or at least avoid getting caught! You’ll face various challenges as you get used to your surroundings. Will you be a well-behaved inmate, quietly serving your time, or will you cause trouble and leave a mark? The choice is yours.
A Colorful Cast
Get to know the unique prisoners in your jail – each one has a story. You can choose to befriend them, or you can intimidate, bully, and steal from them. Will you join a gang, or will you try to survive on your own with cunning and skill? Choose your path!

Do you prefer to solve problems with strength, stealth, or persuasion? Hone your abilities, create the gear that fits how you play, and work your way up from a newcomer to a leader.

Okay, so I’m totally hooked on this game! It’s set in Boulderton Prison, which is designed to completely crush you, but the way to get out isn’t just brute force – you need to be clever and creative. Seriously, everything in that prison could be useful for escaping. I’m talking your cell, the hospital, even the sewers and rooftops! It’s all about finding those little details and using them to your advantage. The big question is… can I actually break free? I’m determined to find out!
