Announced is the debut of Obsidian Entertainment’s fresh fantasy RPG, titled “Avowed”, on PC, hitting stores on February 18th. Rest assured that despite games becoming increasingly demanding to run, most personal computers should be able to handle its system requirements comfortably. Furthermore, it won’t consume excessive storage space either.

In this game, you’ll delve into the stunning yet perilous realm of Eora, a place familiar from Pillars of Eternity. Unlike a single expansive world, you’ll traverse smaller regions as you unravel the mystery behind the lethal Dreamscourge affliction.

If you opt for the Premium Edition, you’ll be able to start playing ahead of time on Valentine’s Day across platforms like Xbox Game Pass, Steam, and Battle.net. This might lead you to ponder if your computer is capable enough. Luckily, Avowed has relatively low PC specifications and a compact file size, ensuring it won’t take up too much space on your hard drive when there are numerous other exciting games launching alongside it.

Avowed system requirements explained

For Avowed, the minimum system requirements are standard for a recent game launch, making it compatible with systems that have handled 2024 releases such as Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Black Myth: Wukong without issues.

The suggested specifications are somewhat increased yet in line with what one might anticipate for a game launching in 2025. For Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it’s recommended to have 32GB of RAM, but 16GB should suffice for Avowed. However, if you intend to play at 4K resolution or utilize Ray Tracing, you’ll need a more potent system or resort to upscaling.

The storage demand of 75 GB for this game is quite manageable; in contrast, Black Ops 6 needs more than 100 GB, and Stalker 2 asks for a whopping 160 GB. Despite February being packed with new releases like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Civilization 7, and Monster Hunter Wilds, you won’t need to clear out too much space for Avowed.

Will it run on Steam Deck?

It’s confirmed that the game “Avowed” will operate on Steam Deck; however, it’s crucial to understand that it may not run at a smooth 60 frames per second (FPS). Due to its minimal system requirements, you might manage a consistent 30 FPS during less action-packed scenes. However, be prepared for frame rate drops during intense combat sequences or congested areas.

Let’s keep an eye on its performance as we get a chance to use it towards the end of February. In the interim, feel free to explore the reasons behind its lack of cooperative play and learn more about the way companion relationships are designed.
