It was a bit unexpected to reveal that Avowed was coming to PS5 during the New Game+ Showcase – especially with games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 also featured. However, Obsidian Entertainment is finally bringing the action RPG to PlayStation, and at a lower price than many expected.
When pre-orders started on the PlayStation Store, people noticed Avowed costs $50 for the standard version and $60 for the premium version. This raised eyebrows because even Indiana Jones hasn’t gotten a price reduction on PlayStation 5. This has led some to wonder if those who purchased the game on Xbox Series X/S or PC have reason to feel slighted.
It’s great news for gamers that the price of Avowed has been permanently reduced, and it’s not just for PlayStation 5! The game is now cheaper on Xbox and Steam as well. While those who purchased it at launch might not be thrilled, it’s a good opportunity for new players to give it a try, especially with the Anniversary Patch releasing on February 17th alongside the PS5 version.
This update includes New Game+, a new weapon, Photo Mode, and more character customization options. New Game+ not only lets you continue your progress with tougher enemies, but also introduces unique enemy variations that will challenge your strategies.
