In the game Avowed, one of the early secrets players will uncover is that of Treasure Maps. This old-school routine involves locating a map with a clue pointing towards hidden treasure, marked by an ‘X’, and then retrieving your new valuable loot. However, the hints for Avowed’s treasure maps can be quite challenging to decipher on your own. In this guide, we will walk you through the locations of each treasure and its corresponding map in the game.

In each of the game’s four areas, you’ll discover three hidden treasures. This amounts to a total of twelve treasures to uncover. Once you’ve found every last one, you’ll be rewarded with the Pathfinder achievement.

Dawnshore Treasure Maps

Treasure Map – Intimidating Feline Codpiece

Heading straight north from Yellowband Camp, you’ll come across a cave entrance that is partially blocked with barriers. After removing these obstacles, you’ll discover within it “Stelgaer’s Pride“.


Treasure Map – Captain Henqua’s Spoils

Find the map on a corpse near the top of the Lighthouse near Claviger’s Landing


Make your way towards the riverbank located northeast of the Western Pargrun Wall Beacon. The nearby submerged cavern situated just south of the bridge is where you’ll discover Wind and Wave.


Treasure Map – Woedica’s Inheritance

Buy the map from Sanza’s Makeshift Emporium in Northern Paradis.

To locate the “Gloves of the Strangler”, head towards the exterior eastern wall of Paradis on your map. You’ll find it north of The Mermaid’s Den. Once there, look for a small nook west of God’s Gate Beacon, where you can discover a hidden switch. After locating and activating the switch, you will uncover a chest inside containing the “Gloves of the Strangler”.

Treasure Map – Painter’s Regret

Find the map on an easel in the farmhouse directly north of the Maxim’s Claim Party Camp.


Look for the ‘Painter’s Brush’ in a treasure chest hidden inside a cave perched on a cliffside, located west of the river, north of Rootbound Godless Ruins, and south of the Wildwood Outskirts Party camp.


Treasure Map – Practical Pockets

Buy the map from Ector Brewer at The Gifted Magpie at Fior mes Iverno.

To your northeast from Ranger’s Headquarters, you’ll discover a modest cave. Inside, there’s a treasure chest containing Hjide’s Handy Hide.


Treasure Map – Earthy Aegis

Look for a map within a building close to Naku Tedek Grounds. Start by exiting Naku Tedek, walk along the row of tents, then search for a big tree root that leads to a collapsed house structure. You’ll find a treasure chest inside containing the map you need.


Perched atop the structure west of Rock Arch Beacon’s fast-travel spot, up in the air by a hanging vine, I found myself with an excellent vantage point peering into the room containing that coveted chest.

There is a switch near the ‘window’ here, that will open the door to the Nature’s Ward.


Shatterscarp Treasure Maps

Treasure Map – Robe of the Arcane Cheater

Buy the map from Ihaka at The Thrifty Pig at the far east end of Deadfall Highlands.


Travel towards the north-east direction from Tago’s Tower Beacon. Climb up the slanted column to reach an elevated area, where you can discover a chest containing the Necropants.


Treasure Map – Seafarer’s Boots

Find map on a blanket near an NPC directly east of Thirdborn.


If you traverse the river from Sulfur Mines Basecamp to Leivathan’s Hollow, you’ll come across a concealed grotto under a stone archway, ensnared in a web. Within this hidden spot lies an Illusion Yatzli that needs to be dispelled. This secret nook contains useful materials.


Seems the map is actually referring to the Wavefinder’s Boots just outside the cave.

Treasure Map – Dead Man’s Mail

Locate the map on the deceased person in the heart of the vast Great Sand Sea. The tent containing it is set exactly over the letter ‘S’ in ‘Sea’.


The cave where you’ll discover the “Robes of Surpassing Brilliance” is situated to the east, right beyond the lake that lies south of the word ‘Ancient’ in ‘Ancient Lakebed’. To gain access, leap from a higher platform above and descend into the cave.

Treasure Map – Ancient Arrowhead

1. Look for a map on a dead body within a cave located towards the western side of Writhing Ruins. This is the same place where you can find the Mater Mare bounty.

2. Search a corpse’s possessions in a cave to the west of Writhing Ruins, where the Mater Mare bounty can also be found.

3. The map you’re seeking is on a deceased person in a cave situated to the west of Writhing Ruins – it’s the same spot as the location for the Mater Mare bounty.

4. To get the map, head to a corpse in a cave located west of Writhing Ruins – this is where you can also find the Mater Mare bounty.

5. The map you need is on a body found in a cave west of Writhing Ruins, and it’s at the same location as the Mater Mare bounty.

6. In a cave to the west of Writhing Ruins, you will find both the map you seek and the Mater Mare bounty on the remains of a deceased individual.


There will be a chest on a ledge directly east of Warden’s Rest with Scout’s Reach.


Treasure Map – My Loyal Shield

Buy the map from Stockkeeper Eberk at Southern Warden Tower.


To the south of Outcast Tower Camp, you’ll find a structure perched atop a towering cliff close to the flowing lava stream. Inside this building, locate a switch on the rear side of an altar. Activating this switch will reveal a hidden door, leading you to discover the enigmatic artifact known as Time’s Tarnish.


Treasure Map – The Blade That Hungers

Purchase from Bulti from one of the upper levels of Solace Keep.

Can find Umbral Needle to far north of Ash Forest.
