Avengers: Doomsday Update Reveals More on MCU Hero’s Unannounced Return

Rumors suggest Iman Vellani will reprise her role as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in the upcoming Marvel movie, Avengers: Doomsday.

Avengers: Doomsday update sheds new light on Ms. Marvel’s MCU return

As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve really enjoyed seeing Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel! She’s popped up in a few places now – the first season of Ms. Marvel, the movie The Marvels, and even in the animated Marvel Zombies series. There’s been a lot of buzz about her possibly being in Avengers: Doomsday, but so far, Marvel hasn’t officially said if that’s happening.

According to Alex Perez, a reliable source at Cosmic Circus, Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel will appear in the next Avengers film. Perez clarified recent comments from Ian McKellen about Magneto destroying New Jersey, explaining that the destruction happened in Magneto’s universe, not the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This means that Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) and the town of Westview are still safe.

According to a source, even if Magneto were to damage New Jersey, Kamala Khan and her family are safe in New Orleans, Louisiana. The end of The Marvels showed the Khans assisting Captain Marvel with moving into a home in Louisiana, confirming their current location.

Following a fan’s question about Kamala moving from New Jersey and leaving her friends, writer Perez shared a final story update, explaining that Kamala has found a new family in Louisiana.

Perez’s mention of a “new fam” has led fans to speculate about the Young Avengers. Kamala Khan started bringing the team together at the end of The Marvels, and it seems Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop will be among the first members.

A recent comment from Perez hints at the Young Avengers playing a role in upcoming Marvel projects, following a similar claim from James Mack about two weeks ago. Mack mentioned three team members would be in Doomsday, but didn’t specify who they were, though Kamala Khan and Kate Bishop are strong possibilities.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
