Avengers: Doomsday Has Officially Made One Of Marvel’s Best TV Shows Pointless

The new movie, Avengers: Doomsday, is set to significantly impact the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it’s also changing some planned storylines from the current Multiverse Saga. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier seems to be most affected by these changes. Many fans agree that the MCU hasn’t been as strong since the conclusion of the Infinity Saga.

For a short time, Avengers: Endgame was the highest-grossing movie ever made, and it wrapped up a truly amazing story arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s why it’s exciting that the Russo brothers – who directed Endgame – are back to direct Doomsday, essentially creating a continuation of that epic film.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Is An Incredibly Important MCU TV Show

The events of Endgame had a massive impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When half of all life disappeared, and then returned five years later to a changed world – where relationships had evolved and loved ones had passed away – it would have been a deeply disorienting experience.

However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t fully shown the lasting impact of events in its Multiverse Saga, with one exception: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This series effectively dealt with the consequences of Thanos’ snap and, crucially, the return of everyone who disappeared. It also showed Sam Wilson becoming the new Captain America, working to bring people together and overcome prejudice and conflict.

The Avengers: Doomsday Teaser Has Confirmed Steve Rogers Will Return

I was so excited when Sam Wilson became Captain America after Steve Rogers finally got to retire and be with Peggy Carter. But the new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday showed Steve is coming back, and now I’m wondering what that means for Sam. Will he still be Cap? It’s definitely got me thinking!

Now that Sam has finally embraced his role as Captain America, he seems confident as a hero. However, Steve Rogers coming back will likely create new challenges for him.

Sam Wilson’s Captain America Might Struggle To Stand Out In Avengers: Doomsday

Captain America, or Steve Rogers, was a widely admired hero. People around the world grew up inspired by his wartime stories, and audiences loved watching Chris Evans bring the character to life, especially as the leader who guided the Avengers to many triumphs.

Sam Wilson, the current Captain America, hasn’t been as well-received as his predecessor. His first solo movie didn’t perform strongly at the box office, and the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier received mixed reviews. Now that Steve Rogers is back, it’s likely Sam will have a less prominent role in future stories.

This development unfortunately undoes the positive steps forward in Sam Wilson’s journey as Captain America. It risks the public turning away from the new Captain America once the original returns, essentially negating the story progression from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier before Avengers: Doomsday comes out.
