‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Directors Break Silence on Chris Evans Returning as Steve Rogers

The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday premiered in theaters with showings of Avatar: Fire and Ash last week, and now Marvel Studios has shared it online. The trailer showcases Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers in the highly anticipated film, directed by the Russo brothers, who recently discussed his comeback.

The new teaser really got me excited! We see Steve Rogers back at his peaceful country home, and he actually pulls out his old Avengers: Endgame suit – it’s a powerful image! Then he’s holding a baby, which everyone assumes is his and Peggy Carter’s child. It looks like even though he’s finally trying to live a normal life in that alternate timeline, something huge is going to pull him back into action. Apparently, Doctor Doom is trying to destroy everything, the entire multiverse, and Steve will be forced to fight again. It reminds me a lot of the Thor teaser, where he’s praying to Odin, desperate to get back to his daughter, Love, before his fight with Doom. It feels like they’re both being called back to duty when they just want to be with their families.
