Great news for fans of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender! Filming has finished on both Season 2 and Season 3 of the live-action series. This is a major step forward for the show, which is highly anticipated after a successful first season.
Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has completed filming for both Season 2 and 3 now
Filming has finished for both the second and third seasons of Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, completing production on the eagerly awaited series.
I was thrilled when the first season did so well in 2024, and even more excited to hear they filmed seasons two and three immediately after! We’re currently in the post-production phase, and it looks like the show will be back on Netflix sometime in 2026. They haven’t given us a firm date just yet, but I’m already counting down the days!
Filming for the second season of Avatar: The Last Airbender finished in May 2025, and the team immediately started working on Season 3. To mark the end of filming for Season 2, Netflix shared a picture from the set with the main actors: Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Miya Cech, and Maria Zhang.
In a statement to Tudum, executive producer and writer Christine Boylan described how the team approached Season 2, saying they focused on three key elements: honesty, optimism, and happiness.
Boyland noted that after nearly three years, production is finishing up, thanks to an incredibly skilled and dedicated team who not only met expectations but surpassed them. She also thanked everyone in the cast and crew for their hard work.
The first season of the show centered around Aang’s quest to learn all four elements and restore balance to the world.
