Her great-great-grandfather was actually the most recent one! Knowing how everything is connected on Pandora, it’s believed you can only bond with Toruk when there’s a real need for it. So, when Jake successfully tamed this enormous beast, it earned him a title that instantly commanded the respect of all the clans. It was a really powerful moment and showed how deeply Jake was embracing the Na’vi way of life. It really cemented his place amongst them, and I loved seeing that unfold. Pandora’s connection to its creatures is just amazing!

This respect was crucial during the events of the first movie. After the Omatikaya clan lost faith in him-when the RDA’s original plan for Jake was exposed-he needed to do something truly remarkable to regain their trust. To achieve this, Jake flew high into the sky, seeking out Toruk. The new trailer reveals not only advanced weaponry, but also technology that lets humans breathe on Pandora without masks. Things get even more complex with a neural link added to Spider’s hair, which allows him to connect with an ilu. While this is beneficial for Spider, who is deeply connected to Pandora and its Na’vi inhabitants, it hints at troubling possibilities for the future – how humans might take advantage of the planet and its resources.
