PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers will receive a new lineup of games in April, as announced on the official PlayStation Blog:

It feels like Nintendo is planning more movies based on the world of The Super Mario Galaxy, and a scene after the credits suggests this is true. In that scene, Fox McCloud and a Toad guard discuss Bowser Jr. and his father, Bowser (Jack Black), who are now in prison together. Lumalee, the cute and pessimistic Luma character from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, shows up as a surprisingly cruel prison guard – a role that seems perfectly suited for them.

The popular superhero show The Boys will conclude after its fifth season. The first two episodes of season 5 will be available on Prime Video starting April 8th, and the final episode will air on May 20th.

It’s generally easier for TV shows with big marketing campaigns or those based on popular existing stories to attract viewers. When you add in how algorithms and social media work, these shows often succeed automatically. However, Prime Video also has many fantastic shows – both original creations and acquired series – that critics love, but don’t always get the attention they deserve.

Spy thrillers are popular again, especially on streaming services. Shows like Slow Horses (Apple TV+), Citadel (Prime Video), The Agency (Paramount+), and Black Doves (Netflix) have become hits worldwide. But when people think of spies, one figure still stands out as the most iconic.

As a huge Superman fan, I’ve always been fascinated by the story of Krypton’s destruction – it’s such a core part of his origin. It’s interesting how, in most versions, Superman doesn’t really remember his life there, so he concentrates on building a life here on Earth and making the best of a really tough situation. The new movie, Superman, from James Gunn’s DC Universe, really leaned into that idea – it showed Superman realizing that who you admire isn’t about family ties, but about who they are as people. But Gunn also added a cool twist! His cousin, Kara, actually said a line from Man of Steel that General Zod originally said, which was a really neat callback for longtime fans like me.

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day reveals Peter Parker will face a variety of enemies in the movie. He’ll battle a mysterious new threat, the ninja group known as the Hand, and the returning villain Scorpion, giving the hero plenty of challenges.
