I had a general idea of what Edge of Tomorrow was about – a futuristic military story involving time travel, and that Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt starred in it. That was pretty much it. Honestly, I avoided watching it for a while because it seemed a bit silly. I’m a big fan of Tom Cruise, having grown up watching films like Top Gun and Days of Thunder repeatedly. But I’m starting to get tired of seeing him always play the flawless hero, like in the upcoming Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.

Most TV shows don’t make a lasting impression with their very first scene, but Justified did exactly that. The show, which finished airing nearly ten years ago, has become a fan favorite on FX, and memorable moments like its opening scene were key to building its strong reputation.

Uwais will direct and star in Timur, a film inspired by the 1996 hostage crisis in Mapenduma and the subsequent rescue operation led by current Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. The film will feature Uwais alongside action stars Andri Mashadi (The Shadow Strays), Yusuf Mahardika (Borderless Fog), and Yasamin Jasem (Temurun), as well as Prabowo Subianto himself, who participated in the actual Operation Mapenduma. Now, people are focused on the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, especially Robert Downey Jr.’s new role as Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man, and how this movie could change the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But before the next big Avengers film comes out next year, fans will get a lighter, enjoyable team-up next week.
