Netflix and Ubisoft are teaming up to create a TV series based on the popular video game Assassin’s Creed, and they’re starting to assemble the cast. Production is scheduled to begin in 2026.
The Assassin’s Creed TV series has cast three actors, but their characters haven’t been revealed yet. Here’s the list of confirmed cast members we have so far:
- Toby Wallace
- Zachary Hart
- Lola Petticrew
Austin Butler is recognized for his work in films like The Bikeriders and Babyteeth. Jack Lowden gained prominence from the Apple TV series Slow Horses, and Jessie Buckley is known for her role in the TV show Say Nothing.
Okay, so I just heard that they’re finally starting to film the Assassin’s Creed TV show next year, and it’s going to be shot in Italy, which is awesome! They’re keeping the exact time period a secret though, which is a little frustrating. With the games jumping between different historical eras and the present day, I’m really curious to see which time periods they’ll focus on in the show.
Roberto Patino (known for Westworld) and David Wiener (known for Halo) are now leading the upcoming Assassin’s Creed series. They took over after Jeb Stuart left the project in 2023 due to creative disagreements.
Before its current iteration, 20th Century Fox released a live-action Assassin’s Creed film in 2016, featuring Michael Fassbender. The movie earned over $240 million globally on a reported budget of $120 million.
Besides the upcoming live-action show, Netflix is also creating an animated series inspired by Assassin’s Creed. Plus, Ubisoft is working on a new Assassin’s Creed video game specifically for Netflix Games.
I’m so excited to hear that Far Cry is getting a TV show! It’s another one of my favorite Ubisoft games heading to Hulu, and they’ve officially ordered it to series. I can’t wait to see how they bring that world to life on screen.
What’s happening with the Assassin’s Creed game series?
The latest Assassin’s Creed game, Shadows, came out in March. Fans are now speculating about what’s next, and a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, potentially called Resynced, is a strong possibility. Beyond that, Ubisoft is working on several other Assassin’s Creed titles, including a mobile game called Jade, a 16th-century adventure known as Codename Hexe, and a multiplayer game rumored to be called Invictus.
