Assassin’s Creed Shadows Will Release Its Expansion In A Much Different Way

Ubisoft has provided more information on the expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Instead of being part of a season pass, it will now be given as a bonus to those who pre-order the game.

In this scenario, the expansion is titled “Claws of Awaji,” which was developed by the same team responsible for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Here, our main characters Yasuke and Naoe embark on a journey to the island of Awaji, situated beyond Osaka Bay. They will encounter a new adversary known as Sanzoku Ippa, who relentlessly pursues them in their quest to recover a hidden treasure. Additionally, Naoe acquires a new type of weapon–the bo staff.

In 2025, you can expect an additional 10 hours of gameplay with the expansion called “Claws of Awaji.” Initially offered as a preorder bonus, it will later be available for separate purchase. If you choose to preorder, you’ll also receive an extra side quest titled “Thrown to the Dogs.

Currently, Ubisoft is navigating through some challenging times as they strive to achieve the most advantageous financial situation. The company has declined to address speculation about a potential takeover by Tencent, but they have stated their intention to “get the most value.” Initially planned for release in 2024, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was postponed to February 14 and later delayed once more due to the need for additional time to perfect its quality.

The video game titled “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is planned for release on March 20th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. In our review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows at TopMob, we mentioned that Ubisoft Quebec appears ready to link the various time periods in the Assassin’s Creed series, but we’ve found in the past that this attempt often doesn’t succeed as intended.
