It seems the Templars are determined to reveal details about Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Switch 2! Another leak suggests the game might launch on Nintendo’s new console on December 5th.
Okay, so this is HUGE news for Switch fans like me! VGC spotted a report on Dealabs saying Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming to the new Switch 2 in December, both as a digital download *and* a physical copy. But here’s the thing – the physical version seems to be a Game Key Card. Remember those? It’s basically a card with a code to download the game, not the game *on* the card itself. They’ve been a bit controversial, but Ubisoft has said they do this for performance – apparently streaming game worlds is faster with digital storage than using a cartridge. They used it for Star Wars Outlaws too, and it sounds like they’re sticking with it for Shadows. Still, I’m just excited we’re getting a new Assassin’s Creed on the Switch!
A recent leak revealed the game will likely cost 50 euros, which is around $50 in the US. This is a considerable price reduction compared to other gaming systems. The leaked image shows the standard version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. For comparison, the Gold Edition of Star Wars Outlaws (which includes a Season Pass) costs $60 on the Switch 2.
It’s pretty clear Assassin’s Creed Shadows will likely be released on the Switch 2. The game was listed for Nintendo’s system on the PEGI ratings website earlier this year, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has hinted that versions of the game will be coming to other platforms.
You can find a detailed review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on TopMob. The game first became available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S back in March.
