Assassin’s Creed Mirage Free DLC Takes Players Into The Valley of Memory

Since its release in 2023, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has received several updates, including a New Game+ mode, improved parkour, a permadeath option, and enhancements for the PlayStation 5 Pro. However, the biggest addition is coming next month with the free DLC, Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory.

To celebrate its second anniversary, Ubisoft has announced a new expansion for the game. Revealed during a recent stream, the expansion adds roughly six hours of gameplay and focuses on Basim’s discovery that his father might still be alive. Basim will travel to AlUla, a historic valley filled with thieves and other dangerous characters, in his search.

Besides the main story, players controlling Basim can take on assassination contracts and extra side quests. Once they collect music sheets by completing parkour courses, they can also play the oud. Ubisoft has hinted at a fresh take on the series’ familiar ‘black box’ missions, but hasn’t shared details yet.

The update will expand the game with improved parkour, plus new missions and challenges you can play again and again. It also introduces two new difficulty settings and more ways to customize your skills and tools, allowing you to become even more proficient.

Valley of Memory appears to have received funding from Savvy Games, which is owned by the Saudi Arabian government. Despite concerns about human rights and other controversies, Saudi Arabia continues to invest heavily in the video game industry. This includes investments in major companies like Nintendo and the recent acquisition of Niantic’s Pokémon Go division. Currently, Saudi Arabian investors are also in the process of buying EA for $55 billion, which will make the company privately owned.

The first major expansion for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, called Valley of Memory, is coming out on November 18th. Fans enjoyed a free educational ‘Discovery Tour’ feature added to Mirage earlier this year. The latest full game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, received a ‘New Game+’ mode last summer. There’s also growing buzz about a possible remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, though reports suggest this version might not include the modern-day sections of the original game.
