According to Deadline, filming for the show is scheduled to start next year in Italy, where some scenes will also take place. While the exact time period of the series hasn’t been revealed, the story will likely move between different points in history and the present day.

Roberto Patino, known for his work on Westworld, and David Wiener, who worked on Halo, are now leading the upcoming Assassin’s Creed series. They took over after Jeb Stuart left the project in 2023 due to creative differences.

Prior to this, 20th Century Fox released the live-action Assassin’s Creed film in 2016, featuring Michael Fassbender, and it grossed over $240 million globally.

Besides the upcoming live-action show, Netflix is also creating an animated series inspired by Assassin’s Creed. Plus, Ubisoft is working on a new Assassin’s Creed video game specifically for Netflix Games.

The announcement of the Assassin’s Creed TV series follows closely on the heels of Ubisoft reporting that the Assassin’s Creed franchise is currently performing very well.

The popular video game series Far Cry is also being adapted into a TV show, recently greenlit for streaming on Hulu.
