Popular streamer Asmongold doesn’t believe Twitch CEO Dan Clancy adequately addressed safety worries at TwitchCon, especially after Valkyrae and QTCinderella decided not to attend.
TwitchCon, the yearly gathering for Twitch streamers and their fans, will take place in San Diego, California, from October 17th to 19th. However, this year’s event is facing some significant backlash.
Popular streamers QTCinderella and Valkyrae both decided not to attend, saying they were scared to travel after a content creator was fatally stabbed in Japan.
Twitch CEO Dan Clancy responded to the worries by stating that Twitch prioritizes security at all of its events.
Our team works year-round to ensure the safety of creators and community members, both on Twitch and at TwitchCon. We have specific rules for attendees, and anyone permanently banned from Twitch for violating our rules is not allowed to attend TwitchCon.

Popular Twitch streamer Asmongold is challenging the CEO’s statements and is warning women not to go to the event, citing previous problems.
Asmongold blasts Twitch over lack of TwitchCon safety
After seeing a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the account ‘yeet’ about an article from TopMob regarding Clancy’s remarks, Asmongold criticized the CEO’s statements.
According to reports, last year, streamers nmplol and wake were sexually assaulted by another streamer, but Twitch took no legal action against the alleged perpetrator.

In 2024, TopMob reported that Kick streamer DBR666 asked Nmp for a forehead kiss. They then kissed the top of Nmp’s head several times, which led Nmp to ask them to stop.
DBR, a streamer on Kick, was asked to leave TwitchCon by security after reportedly breaking the event’s rules. DBR became upset, stating they believed the removal was due to their clothing choice – specifically, wearing a dress.
Asmongold is frustrated by Twitch’s inaction and has cautioned anyone planning to attend the event.
“If I was a woman, I would never go to TwitchCon,” he added.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened at TwitchCon. In 2022, streamer Amouranth shared that her security team had to intervene when several stalkers appeared at the event and started following her.
