Twitch streamer Asmongold’s serious soda habit seems to have resulted in a strange and unusual side effect – he claims he can ‘hear’ soda, which might be the most bizarre superpower ever.
Even though Asmongold is a hugely popular streamer with a high income, he hasn’t made significant changes to his lifestyle, aside from occasional cleaning sessions where he’s found deceased animals in his home.
Everyone in the streaming world teases him about his messy home, and his fans are often concerned about his health because he drinks a lot of soda and rarely drinks water.
Earlier this month, the popular Twitch streamer shared his typical daily meals, and it includes at least three sodas. Some viewers were surprised, especially considering his success and wealth, and joked that he was pretending to have an unhealthy lifestyle.
He then showed off all the sodas he’d collected over the past two days, jokingly claiming that drinking them had given him superpowers.
Asmongold’s soda diet has given him powers
Asmongold finished the last of his Coke and surprised his viewers by finally addressing a long-running joke about whether he sometimes accidentally drank from the wrong cup.
He started by warning, “You won’t be happy to hear this.” Similar to how Homer Simpson famously hears pudding, Asmongold claims to have a strange ability: he can hear soda.

I can immediately tell which drink is the right one just by listening to it. I’m really focused on the carbonation – I can actually hear the bubbles! Even long after it’s been opened, I can still detect them. If there’s even a single bubble, I can put my ear close and pinpoint exactly which one it is.
Honestly, this superpower isn’t very helpful. It’s unlikely to be useful in a real crisis – unless our villains start being soda brands instead of supervillains, it won’t save the day.
Asmongold reveals how his diet “fried” his taste buds and changed his body
But that wasn’t the only surprising thing. The streamer also mentioned he didn’t realize how much his sense of taste had been affected until he tried a taste test with Emiru.
He described the taste of a lemon as similar to cardboard. Asmon explained this is because he regularly consumes a lot of acidic foods and drinks, to the point where even lemons barely register a flavor.
Despite consuming so much soda every day for four years, the creator has no plans on stopping.
He once stated his intention to drastically alter his body through excessive, unhealthy eating, with the ultimate aim of evolving beyond humanity.
This isn’t the only time Asmongold has talked about ‘evolving.’ He jokingly claimed that after going three months without showering, he was ‘starting to evolve’ and was even growing an ‘exoskeleton.’
