Chuck Norris, the famous action star, died on March 20th at the age of 86. He first became known as a skilled martial artist, mastering several fighting styles, and began acting in the late 1960s, appearing in around 60 films and TV shows. While he starred in many popular action movies during the 1980s, he’s perhaps best remembered for playing Cordell Walker in the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger from 1993 to 2001. He sometimes even played a version of himself in his films.
Looking back at his incredible career, Chuck Norris really owned the action genre well into the 2000s and 2010s. I remember being entertained by his appearance in The Expendables 2 back in 2012 – it turned out to be his last film, and what a way to go out! Sharing the screen with icons like Stallone, Lundgren, Willis, and Van Damme, Norris brought his signature blend of humor and fighting prowess to the movie, and honestly, some of the funniest scenes revolved around him. It’s particularly touching to see one of his co-stars now speaking about their time together and celebrating the lasting impact of his legacy.
Following the news of Chuck Norris’s passing, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who starred with him in The Expendables 2, shared a message on X. Schwarzenegger expressed his appreciation for having worked with Norris, describing him as a truly tough and impressive person both on and off screen. He then sent his condolences to the Norris family.
Chuck was a true legend, and I feel lucky to have worked with him in so many different ways over the years – whether it was promoting health and fitness or acting alongside him. He was incredibly tough and talented, both on and off screen. He’ll be deeply missed, and his memory will live on. I’m thinking of his family during this difficult time.
